: If i buy a domainname, how can i set it up so that i host the site?
: thanks
1. You need to get the address of your ISP's Primary and Secondary Domain Name Servers and give them to the domain name Registrar you are using.
2. Your ISP assigns you a fixed or static IP address to set your computer to. You also set your computers Subnet Mask, Gateway Address and Domain Name Server addresses with the information you get from your ISP.
3. You inform your ISP of your doman name so they can set the records correctly on their Domain Name Servers. That way when requests for your domain come into your ISP's Domain Name Servers they will know what IP address to return to the requestor.
4. Set your domain name into the Website Name field of the MyWebServer Server Properties Page.
