Static internet address problem with router

Posted by (203.17.162.32) on October 25, 2003 at 20:48:55:

I have a D-link DSL 500 with latest firmware. I am with pacific ADSL and they provide me a static ip address (203.143.244.XX). as well as a dynamic IP (203.13.XX.XX) which is what MWS 1.0.3 finds and most internet sites that say you are at ip address XXXX. One site can find my static ip address which is http://grc.com (sheilds up - great site for checking port state from internet side.) I can make it bind to my internal lan on 192.168.0.2 which is assigned its ip address from the router which sits at 192.168.0.1. The router redirects the required port through to the machine running MWS (192.168.0.2). I have allowed the port through my software firewall and i can see my web page and files from remote computers, by typing http://203.143.244.XX:9634 (as this is my static ip address with ports below 1024 blocked by isp.) All connection works great however MWS can't get it pics like "folder.gif" because it looks for them on http://192.168.0.2:9634/ (the ip it is serving on) rather than on my static internet address of http://203.143.244.XX:9634/ i guess this is because it is serving from that address and it generates it html pages to use that ip address, but the router redirects all port traffic to it and this works well. what can i do to make wms think it is using ip address 203.143.244.XX when i really need it to serve on 192.168.0.2 which it does well at the moment. - Help me please.
